After only 3 months of service and attending the salon every 2 weeks. I have received great results and outstanding improvement with my hair. My scalp is healthier than ever and now we are working on length.
Texturz salon is clean, the beauticians are friendly, and the owner, Michelle, is knowledgeable and caring. I went to her salon a once a quarter before moving out of state. When we moved back a couple months ago (after 6 years away), I called for an appointment and was pleasantly surprised that she remembered me! I brought our kids (natural hair) in for wash and go's and the price was very reasonable. The hair washer was patient with the Littles and added a quick, simple style when requested. I called a couple of weeks later to set an appointment for my cut and color. Michelle reviewed my ideas and advised me on color, cut, and the procedure. I am also natural and had never added color before, so She made sure I understood the 2 step process. Everything came out cute, and she even advised me after the appointment when I had questions regarding upkeep and future color. I'm giving 4 stars because the price I paid was 80+ higher than quoted over the phone prior to the appointment. Still, at the end of the appointment and before payment, Michelle showed me the cost of services itemized and took off 10%. Throughout the appointment, I received excellent service and tons of information and advice on hair care at home in a friendly atmosphere. I highly recommend trying Texturz for an experience you won't find at these other Atlanta salons.
I came in for my appointment and showed the stylist the EXACT hairstyle I wanted her to recreate. Needless to say she didn't follow the example and cut WAY TOO MUCH off! I'm pissed my hair is my pride and glory. On top of that the overall cut is a poor job (line up is damn near non existent, and the cut isn't even).
I am blown away by all of the reviews that reflect the experience I had at this salon. First, let me say I am very picky about my hair. I even told Michelle this. She was very sweet and (like another reviewer stated) she talked a good game. She went as far as showing me pics (around her salon and in her phone) of hair she'd colored and styled. I was impressed and had zero concerns. She streaked my hair, trimmed it and did a silk press. I WAS NOT IMPRESSED WITH ANY OF IT!!! She educated me on the importance of choosing a stylist who knows how to evenly distribute streaks. This was quite ironic because she did not do this on my head. She did not consider how I wear my hair when streaking my hair nor did she apply enough color to my hair. She did not blow my hair all the way straight when trimming my hair and gave me a straight cut in the front instead of on an angle to better blend with the rest of my hair. Lastly, this so-called silk press looked more like what you would expect if your girlfriend did your hair at home using non-professional equipment. My hair was puffy at the roots and dull looking. She sectioned my hair in large sections when flat ironing it and was done coloring, trimming and silk pressing my hair in less than 2 hrs. I was mortified when I pulled out my wallet and she said I owed her $180. My hair was a complete MESS!!! I am writing this review while sitting under the dryer at a Dominican salon. They have issues too, but at least you will leave their salon with straight hair at a reasonable price. My coworkers had a hard time believing Michelle didn't know my hair looked a mess. The scary part is that I really think she believed she did a great job. Needless to say, I have taken a loss, which I accept for having an unknown new stylist color and trim my hair w/o being personally familiar w/ her work. I wanted to share my experience to hopefully spare someone the heartache and pocket-ache I experienced.

I'm very disappointed with how my hair came out. The day I made my appointment I told the Reception I wanted a tampered cut. I've been natural for years and wanted to try something new and fun. She set me up with the person that would do the best job, or she thought.
I honestly love the environment and my stylist Michelle is the BOOM.
I absolutely love my color! Michelle, the owner, has been my hairdresser for over 20 years. Both of my daughters get their hair done at Texturz also, and we are always very pleased with our hair. We can always count on great service at Texturz, and Michelle really knows how to keep our hair healthy. She is an expert on hair care and how to keep your hair healthy. The staff at Texturz is courteous, and they try their best to fit us in when we need an appointment on short notice due to a special event. We really don't trust anyone else with taking care of our hair. I would definitely recommend Michelle and Texturz if you are looking for a salon with great service.
The picture of the girl is the picture I showed. The second is an example of what she did. It's a male in the picture because it's mainly a cut MEN get, also one of the reasons I hate the cut so much. I'm too self conscious to even take a picture of myself.
