Not even one star... no customer service
The city of Duluth preys on immigrants, minorities, and the uneducated to agree to waive their right to a jury trial so they can collect cash on the spot. Although I had the knowledge to demand a jury trial for ‘following too closely’ and easily ended up with a dismissal of my case, it is despicable to see how this court preys on the less fortunate.
Rude solicitor. He will offer you a ‘deal’ for any traffic violation; however, the ‘deal’ offered is still a pretty sizable fine. Advise them that you want a jury trial and don’t let him bully you into opting out of one. All jury trials are moved to the County court, and they will likely dismiss the case because they are too lazy to take the time and effort to prosecute cases.
The Duluth Municipal Court does an efficient job of making the citizens of Gwinnett County, miserable as possible. If you ever have to attend a hearing at this court, I wish you the best of luck. They don't care if it's your first time in Georgia, first time speeding, or even first time in court period. They want the dollars from your pocket not justice or peace. Hope you have savings in your emergency fund because you are going to need it from the astronomical fines they charge.
The solicitor was not very nice probably becuz the people he was seeing before me were being dramatic. But that doesn't mean that he should have had taken his anger out on me or anyone else afterwards. He was only nice right before I left. Maybe cuz he knew he was being a slight dick so he must've felt bad. But still ~
As a foreigner, I guess they thought that I’d want to pay an extortionate fine rather than fight them in court. Typical American $ for justice.
The solicitor is just plain rude. I wasn't allow to state my current problems that I'm facing. And I've only been in GA 1 month, the people who work here just don't care at all. This court doesn't care about you. They just want your money. Thanks Buford what a great justice system you have.
